Acid Pectinase Application scenarios
1. Food and Beverage Processing
• Fruit Juice Clarification and Yield Enhancement:
Breaks down pectin in fruit juice, causing suspended solids to settle, significantly improving clarity and filtration speed, while also increasing juice yield. For example, the light transmittance of cucumber juice can reach 92.12%, and the juice yield can be increased to 93.18%.
• Fruit Wine Brewing:
Used for clarifying fruit wines such as grape wine, improving the color and stability of the wine.
• Citrus Fruit Segment Separation:
Used in the production of products such as canned mandarin oranges in syrup, to remove the segment membranes.
2. Textile Processing
Cotton and Linen Degumming/Refining:
Replaces traditional strong alkali processes, degrading pectin and other impurities on the fiber surface, making the fibers softer, while also making the process more environmentally friendly.
3. Natural Product Extraction
Extraction of Plant Active Ingredients:
By breaking down plant cell walls, it promotes the release of effective substances within the cells (such as flavonoids, polysaccharides, and vegetable oils), improving extraction efficiency. It can be used in the production of extracts from ginkgo leaves, ginseng, etc.
4. Pectin Production
Enzymatic Extraction of Pectin:
Uses protopectinase to catalyze the hydrolysis of insoluble protopectin, producing soluble commercial pectin. This method is milder than the traditional acid method, resulting in pectin with a larger molecular weight and stable quality.
5. Feed Industry
Feed Additive:
Added to feed to help break down plant cell walls in grain raw materials, promoting the release and absorption of nutrients.
6. Biotechnology and Scientific Research
• Plant Protoplast Preparation:
Works together with cellulase and other enzymes to break down plant cell walls, preparing protoplasts that can be used in research such as plant regeneration.
• Preparation of Single-Cell Foods:
Processes vegetable tissue to obtain intact single cells, which are easy to digest and suitable for making special-purpose foods.
7. Paper Industry
Fiber Treatment:
Used to treat plant fiber raw materials, degrading pectin, hemicellulose, and other components to disperse the fibers and produce high-quality pulp materials.
