Photoinitiator EDB / Omnirad EDB / Speedcure EDAB CAS 10287-53-3

EDB is a solid amine synergist. It is used together with free radical (Ⅱ) type photoinitiator. It is suitable for UV polymerization of monomers and oligomers with mono- or multi-functional groups. It is used to improve UV curing coatings and viscosity. The efficiency of the photoinitiator in the mixture and ink. Usually used in conjunction with ITX, 907 or BMS, the general dosage is 2-5%.

Photoinitiator EDB Use:

1. The photoinitiator EDB plays a key role in many products. This photoinitiator plays an important role in lithographic printing inks, enabling the ink to be better cured during the printing process, thereby ensuring clarity of the print and lasting color. It also plays an important role in adhesives, enhancing their adhesion and stability. It is also found in screen printing inks, soldering inks and other related sub-products.

2. In terms of practical application, in industry practice, photoinitiator EDB is usually used in combination with photoinitiator ITX or 907. This combination is not arbitrary, but the result of extensive experimentation and actual production verification. According to relevant research data, when photoinitiator EDB is used together with them, it can produce a synergistic effect and more efficiently initiate the photocuring reaction. In terms of dosage, the recommended dosage is 2 – 5% w/w. There is a profound scientific basis behind this figure. If the dosage is too low, it may lead to incomplete photocuring and affect product quality; if the dosage is too high, it may cause some unnecessary side reactions, such as the possibility of creating some minor defects on the surface of the product, affecting the appearance and performance of the product.

3. Historically, when early printing technology and the electronics industry were just getting started, people’s understanding of photoinitiators was still quite limited. Problems such as poor print quality and unsatisfactory soldering protection often resulted from the poor light curing effect. With the development of technology, photoinitiator EDB was gradually discovered and applied, which significantly improved the quality of related industries.
