Why do sponge products turn yellow? What is the solution?
Sponge products may turn yellow during use for various reasons. Here are a few possible reasons:

1, Oxidation: when the materials in sponge products come into contact with oxygen, an oxidation reaction may occur, causing the sponge to turn yellow. This is usually due to the polymer material in the sponge reacting with oxygen in the air, resulting in a change in colour.

2, Dirt and contaminants: Sponge products are usually used for cleaning and wiping surfaces, and therefore come into contact with a variety of dirt and contaminants. This dirt can penetrate the fibres of the sponge and is difficult to clean completely. Over time, dirt can accumulate and cause the sponge to turn yellow.

3, sunlight and UV exposure: when sponge products are exposed to sunlight or UV radiation for a long period of time, certain components in the material may undergo a photochemical reaction. This reaction may lead to changes in the molecular structure, making the sponge yellow.

4, chemical reaction: some sponge products may be sensitive to specific chemicals, and its contact may react to cause yellowing. These chemicals may include detergents, bleach, dyes or other chemicals.

5, improper storage and maintenance: If the sponge products are not properly stored and maintained, such as long exposure to moisture, or stored with other coloured substances, it may lead to yellowing of the sponge.

It should be noted that the yellowing of sponge products does not necessarily mean that their performance or function has been impaired, but it may affect the appearance. If you want to maintain the original colour of sponge products, you should clean and maintain them regularly and avoid contact with substances that may cause yellowing.

Solution: You can prevent sponges from yellowing by using a sponge anti-yellowing agent, which is a product that can help maintain the colour of the sponge:

1, choose the right sponge anti-yellowing agent: there are different types of sponge anti-yellowing agent available on the market. Ensure that you choose the appropriate product for your sponge type and application. Read product descriptions and guidelines for applicable conditions and usage.

2, Pre-treatment of sponges: Sponges can be pre-treated before they are used. Soak the sponge in warm water mixed with an appropriate amount of sponge anti-yellowing agent for the amount of time indicated in the product instructions. Pre-treatment can help prevent the sponge from turning yellow in advance.

3, Regular Cleaning and Maintenance: Regular cleaning of the sponge is an important step in preventing yellowing. Use warm water and a mild detergent to thoroughly clean the surface and fibres of the sponge. Avoid cleaning agents containing bleach or strong acids and alkalis, which may damage the colour and texture of the sponge.

4, avoid pollutants and chemicals: Try to avoid sponges coming into contact with pollutants and chemicals that may cause yellowing. Avoid using the sponge to clean items containing strong pigments or dyes. Also, avoid contact between the sponge and items containing bleach or other harmful chemicals.

5, Proper Storage: Store sponges in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Avoid exposing the sponge to humidity to prevent mould and yellowing.

6, Replace the sponge regularly: No matter how careful maintenance measures are taken, the sponge will wear out and become old over time. Regularly check the condition of your sponges and replace those that need replacing in a timely manner to keep them clean and looking good.

Please note that the use of sponge anti-yellowing agents does not completely eliminate the possibility of sponge yellowing, but it can effectively delay the onset of yellowing. Also, ensure that you select and use the sponge anti-yellowing agent correctly and follow the product instructions.
