1. Methanedisulfonic acid (MDS) is an important fine chemical product. The aqueous solution of 50% methanedisulfonic acid is mainly used as a catalyst for electroplating, and the solid methanedisulfonic acid with more than 98% content is mainly used in the fields of medicine and battery electrolyte.

2. It is used as the main additive in hard chrome plating process.
