Applications in polymer materials (especially polyurethane):
This is one of its core applications. In the production of polyurethane foam (commonly used in furniture, mattresses, and automotive parts), it effectively inhibits the oxidation of polyols during storage and prevents “core burning” or discoloration problems caused by high temperatures during foaming. Its liquid form facilitates measurement and mixing, and its low volatility avoids contamination of surrounding materials.
Applications in the lubricating oil industry: As a highly effective oil antioxidant, it significantly improves the oxidation stability of lubricating oils at high temperatures. Its main function is to decompose peroxides generated during oil oxidation, thereby inhibiting abnormal increases in oil viscosity, acid value growth, and sediment formation, extending oil change intervals and equipment life.
Application characteristics and synergistic effects: Antioxidant 5057 is often used as a primary antioxidant. To achieve a more comprehensive stabilizing effect, it is frequently used in combination with phenolic antioxidants (such as antioxidants 1135 and 1076) in industry to produce a “synergistic effect,” simultaneously addressing oxidation reactions at different stages and providing comprehensive protection for materials from processing to long-term use.

Color impact: Lubricating oils or polymers containing antioxidant 5057 may darken in color over time, but this usually does not affect their basic properties.
Regulatory Compliance: If the product involves food contact or specific environmental requirements, it is necessary to confirm whether the antioxidant’s specific specifications comply with relevant regulations (such as FDA standards).
Storage and Handling: It is recommended to store in a sealed, dark, and well-ventilated place at room temperature. As a chemical, avoid direct contact with skin and eyes during handling, and follow the guidance in the Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
