Product Overview
CHLUMICRYL® WPU-502 provides a waterborne polyurethane binder for adhesive systems that are dried and subsequently heat activated. Its indicated activation range of 50-55 °C supports evaluation on substrates that can tolerate this process, while rapid crystallization is intended to assist bond development. The dispersion is positioned for textile and fabric treatment, fiberglass sizing, automotive interior bonding, footwear and furniture applications. Stated film tensile strength is 35-50 MPa. Actual bond strength depends on surface preparation, coat weight, drying, activation and pressing conditions, so the complete bonding process should be qualified on the intended materials.

Formulation and Handling
Establish drying, heat activation and pressing conditions for each substrate combination.
Where increased water resistance is required, a compatible curing agent may be screened at approximately 1-5%; confirm the agent, dosage basis and pot life.
Keep the stored dispersion separate from curing agents.
- Activation temperature is a process starting point, not a guaranteed bond or service-temperature rating.
- Film tensile strength is not a peel-strength or lap-shear bond specification.
Check binder compatibility, substrate preparation, application conditions and final coating or bond performance in your own formulation. Waterborne use does not by itself establish solvent-free status or a hazard classification. Consult the current safety data sheet and use appropriate industrial handling controls.
Verpakking en opslag
50 kg or 120 kg plastic drums.
Store at 5-30 °C in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Protect from freezing and light. Avoid direct contact with curing agents. Stated shelf life: 12 months.
