Product Description

Acid protease is an enzyme preparation produced from selected high-quality strains such as Aspergillus niger through fermentation, extraction and purification. It effectively hydrolyzes proteins under acidic conditions to produce peptides, amino acids and related products. It is widely used in animal feed, leather processing, brewing, textiles, food, distilled spirits and ethanol production from cereal feedstocks.

Application Information

In the ethanol industry, acid protease effectively breaks down proteins in cereal raw materials into small peptides and amino acids that yeast can absorb. This accelerates fermentation, shortens fermentation time, improves production efficiency, increases raw-material utilization and raises alcohol yield. In animal feed, acid protease works together with endogenous enzymes to significantly improve protein digestibility and utilization. It is particularly suitable for young animals or livestock and poultry diets with low protein digestibility, helping reduce nutritional diarrhea and improve animal performance. In textiles, acid protease is used to soften and refine wool, improving the smoothness and softness of wool fabrics and increasing their luster. It can also disrupt scales on the surface of wool fibers, reducing felting and facilitating dyeing. In the production of brewed and fermented products, acid protease promotes vigorous microbial growth and improves the saccharification and fermentation performance of qu.

Identifier note: Acid protease is a general product name. CAS 9025-49-4 and EC 3.4.23.18 shown above correspond to aspergillopepsin I activity. References: IUBMB Enzyme Nomenclature; EFSA Journal.
