Product Overview
CHLUMICRYL® WPU-617 is a waterborne binder for formulators seeking a harder, glossy surface with low water uptake. Its application range includes wood and industrial coatings on metal, plastic or glass. Stated film data include pencil hardness of 2H and water absorption below 3% after 24 hours at 25 °C. A suitable film-forming aid may be evaluated to improve film appearance and surface smoothness. Where a curing agent is introduced for additional durability, establish compatibility and working time. Confirm adhesion and performance on the intended substrate using defined coating thickness, drying, conditioning and test procedures.

Formulation and Handling
Select film-forming aids through formulation trials.
A curing-agent trial range of approximately 1-5% is indicated; confirm the agent, dosage basis and usable pot life.
Avoid directly blending with incompatible adhesives or resins.
- Pencil hardness requires confirmation of the substrate, film thickness, cure conditions and test method.
- No numerical minimum film-formation temperature is specified.
Check binder compatibility, substrate preparation, application conditions and final coating or bond performance in your own formulation. Waterborne use does not by itself establish solvent-free status or a hazard classification. Consult the current safety data sheet and use appropriate industrial handling controls.

Store at 5-30 °C in a cool, dry place. Protect from freezing, excessive heat and direct sunlight. Stated shelf life: 12 months.
