Product Overview
CHLUMICRYL® TH-255A is a waterborne rheology modifier designed to produce relatively high viscosity at low shear while allowing flow during application. Its associative polyurethane chemistry is suited to screening in latex paints, adhesives, inks and flexible-substrate coatings. The product profile includes film formation, hiding, pigment wetting and reduced roller spatter, with thickening as the main function and leveling as a secondary contribution. Product information lists 40% and 50% solids options; confirm the selected supply specification before adjusting a formula. Rheology must be evaluated with the actual binder, pigment and surfactant package, because performance cannot be transferred unchanged between formulations.

Formulation and Handling
The documented starting range is 0.5-2.0% of the total formulation; confirm the dosing basis and optimize through rheology trials.
Assess viscosity, leveling, spatter and storage stability in the complete formulation.
Review the current SDS before handling.
- The 40% and 50% figures are separate listed solids options, not a continuous 40-50% tolerance.
- Confirm the supplied solids option and availability before ordering; no universal equivalence to another thickener is claimed.
Check binder compatibility, substrate preparation, application conditions and final coating or bond performance in your own formulation. Waterborne use does not by itself establish solvent-free status or a hazard classification. Consult the current safety data sheet and use appropriate industrial handling controls.

Store at 5-30 °C in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Protect from freezing and sunlight. Stated storage period: 12 months.
