Product Description
Alpha-galactosidase is produced from selected high-quality strains such as Aspergillus niger through submerged fermentation, extraction and purification. It is an exoglycosidase that specifically catalyzes the hydrolysis of terminal galactosyl residues linked by alpha-1,6 bonds in substances such as melibiose, raffinose, stachyose, glycosphingolipids and glycoproteins. It is widely used in the food, animal feed and medical industries.
Application Information
In the animal feed industry, alpha-galactosidase can effectively eliminate anti-nutritional factors in meal-based feeds, such as raffinose and stachyose, thereby promoting the utilization of feed energy and protein. It can also improve the utilization efficiency of carbohydrates such as hemicellulose, cellulose and starch in the anterior digestive tract, thereby altering the composition and ratio of substrates available for microbial fermentation in the posterior intestine. This promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria and inhibits the proliferation of harmful bacteria, helping to improve animal health, growth and development. In the production of soy milk powder, the enzyme can hydrolyze flatulence-causing raffinose and stachyose, producing soy milk products with a low content of alpha-galactosyl oligosaccharides and supporting human digestion.
Identifier note: CAS 9025-35-8 and EC 3.2.1.22 correspond to alpha-galactosidase (alpha-D-galactoside galactohydrolase). Reference: IUBMB Enzyme Nomenclature.
