Product Description
Alkaline protease is produced from selected high-quality strains such as Bacillus subtilis through fermentation, extraction, purification and formulation. Because its active center contains a serine residue, alkaline protease is also known as an alkaline serine protease. It is an endoprotease that hydrolyzes protein molecules or peptide chains under neutral to alkaline conditions, producing peptides or amino acids. It is widely used in protein processing, textiles, leather processing, detergents and other industries.
Application Information
Alkaline protease is used in the extraction of chondroitin sulfate and heparin, where it can effectively improve product yield and purity. In leather processing, it can be used in soaking and dehairing. It promotes water penetration, making the soaking process faster and more uniform and facilitating the loosening of collagen fibers, thereby increasing the softness and fullness of finished leather. In the textile industry, it is used for silk degumming. Enzymatic degumming causes less damage to fibroin, does not readily cause fuzzing and produces a soft, bulky silk texture.
