Product Overview
WPU-6153 is a translucent waterborne polyurethane binder for protective surface coatings. Its listed substrates are metal, glass and wood, with a performance profile focused on smooth film formation and resistance to scratching and abrasion. The reported hardness is HB, viscosity is no more than 300 mPa·s at 25 °C, and water absorption is 4-5% after 24 hours at 25 °C. Compatible anionic polyurethane blends may be considered during development. For demanding wet exposure, evaluate an appropriate crosslinker and confirm the resulting adhesion, hardness and working time in the final coating rather than relying on resin data alone.

Formulation and Handling
Check compatibility before blending with other anionic polyurethane dispersions. Avoid indiscriminate mixing with adhesives of a different chemical nature. If adding a crosslinker, establish its dosage basis, compatibility and working time through trials.
- The HB hardness value is reported without a specified test method or film-preparation procedure.
- Scratch, abrasion and substrate adhesion should be qualified on the completed coating.
Check binder compatibility, substrate preparation, application conditions and final coating or bond performance in your own formulation. Waterborne use does not by itself establish solvent-free status or a hazard classification. Consult the current safety data sheet and use appropriate industrial handling controls.
