IR-775 in Thermal CTP Imaging
In a thermal computer-to-plate coating, IR-775 absorbs near-infrared laser energy and converts it into heat. The resulting local thermal response acts on the compatible initiating, acid-generating or crosslinking chemistry to form an image according to the plate design and processing route.
The 775 nm absorption maximum should be matched to the output of the intended laser and verified in the complete coating rather than selected from nominal wavelength alone.
Anwendungen
- Thermal CTP plate formulations
- Lithographic printing materials
- Computer-to-plate near-infrared laser exposure systems
- Compatible HABI and other photoinitiating-package screening
Product Classification and Formulation Guidance
What IR-775 is – and is not: IR-775 is a spectral sensitizer, heat-sensitive dye and NIR absorber. It is not categorized as a standalone Type I or Type II photoinitiator. Performance depends on the complete initiating package, binder or resin, solvent, coating thickness and laser conditions.
Formulation guidance: No universal addition level is stated in the reviewed sources. Screen dye concentration, solubility, photoinitiator or co-initiator compatibility, coating thickness, exposure dose and post-exposure process in the intended CTP formulation.
Handling, Storage and Packaging
Storage and handling: Keep tightly closed in a cool, dark and well-ventilated place, away from oxidizing agents. Protect from sunlight, visible light and heat. Use suitable protective equipment and local exhaust where dust may form.
Verpackung: The reviewed source page lists a 1 kg aluminum-foil bag or black plastic drum. Confirm current commercial packaging when requesting a quotation.
Documentation: Request the current lot-specific specification, COA and SDS before formulation, handling or production use.
