2100 vs 3432 vs 3501 compares three different print-surface questions. Resolve the 2100 identity first
Two distinct live records conflict: CHLUMIAG® 2100 和 CHLUMIWE® 2100. The public site does not establish one unambiguous current brand. Use “2100 wetting grade” and require the exact commercial name, code, TDS and COA before purchase.

Use 2100 for measured entry failure
After identity confirmation, start at the supplier-approved low dose and hold substrate treatment, viscosity, deposit and drying constant. Measure retraction, pinholes, density and line/dot quality. Better wetting does not prove stronger adhesion; test tape adhesion, overprint and lamination separately.
Use 3432 for measured leveling
Screen within 0.05–1% at equal density and film deposit. Compare flow, gloss and surface uniformity while monitoring craters, intercoat adhesion and rub. Its any-stage addition statement does not prove that grind, letdown and post-addition give identical results; record the stage.
Keep 3501 behind a data gate
First rule out retained water or solvent, inadequate UV dose, warm rewinding and excessive stack pressure. Then request current dose, active content, compatible vehicles and a reproducible block method. A release application listing is not a quantified result and does not support blind equal-dose comparison.

Normalize density
ASTM D7305 describes reflection-density measurement on printed paper, film or board. Match density before ranking gloss, rub or defects. It is not intended for metal or foil.
Measure rub separately
ASTM D5264 provides a comparative Sutherland rub practice. Fix receptor, load, cycles and conditioning. Blocking needs a separate pressure/temperature/time simulation. A grade can improve release while weakening rub.
Use vehicle testing as the framework
ASTM D6687 guides testing of printing-ink vehicles and components. Record resin, pigment, water/solvent/UV status, drying/cure, process speed and aging. Do not merge candidates until single-variable results are understood.
Protect compliance
Public pages do not establish food-contact, low-migration or destination-market compliance. Map direct contact, indirect contact and set-off, obtain applicable declarations and validate the full printed construction.
Control substrate treatment and drying
Measure corona or plasma treatment immediately before printing and record substrate lot, surface coating and storage age. Treatment decay or contamination can make a wetting candidate appear necessary when the root cause is the film. For paper and board, record moisture and topcoat because absorbency changes density and apparent leveling.
Fix dryer temperature, airflow, speed and residual water or solvent, or fix lamp irradiance and dose for UV work. Blocking and rub failures caused by incomplete drying or cure must be corrected before screening 3501. Use the same conditioning interval for every print.
Check overprint, lamination and sealing
Apply the intended overprint varnish, adhesive or laminate at production coat weight and interval. Measure bond and inspect delamination after aging. For heat-sealed packages, keep the seal area and conditions constant. A surface change that improves leveling or release can reduce the next layer’s anchorage or change sealing behavior.
Decision rules
Do not combine 2100 and 3432 simply because one addresses entry and the other leveling. Their effects can overlap at the surface and may change foam, adhesion or overprint together. Establish the minimum effective level of a single route first; only then use a small factorial study if two independent defects remain.
- Confirm the exact 2100 identity, TDS and COA.
- Select 3432 only for a measured leveling defect within its published dose.
- Do not screen 3501 without dose and block evidence.
- Reject changes that harm density, adhesion, rub, overprint or conversion.
