Description
Product Overview
CHLUMICRYL® WPU-503 is intended for heat-activated adhesive coatings where the substrate and process can accommodate activation at 100-110 °C. The dispersion is designed to combine brushability, rapid crystallization, heat resistance and resistance to unwanted re-tack. It has a stated film tensile strength of 35-50 MPa and a 100% modulus of 7-8 MPa. Do not treat the activation range as a continuous service-temperature rating. Establish drying, activation, assembly and pressing conditions for the actual substrates, then measure the required bond performance. Blending with adhesives of different chemistry requires a specifically validated compatibility study.
Grade Characteristics
- Higher heat-activation temperature
- Rapid crystallization and resistance to re-tack
- Brushability
- Bond strength and heat resistance

- Adhesive coatings requiring blocking resistance
- Bonding systems requiring heat resistance
Formulation and Handling
Do not mix with adhesives of different chemistry without compatibility validation.
Screen a compatible curing agent when greater water resistance is needed; the indicated trial range is approximately 1-5%, with dosage basis and pot life to be confirmed.
Qualify activation and pressing conditions on the intended substrate pair.
- Activation temperature does not specify the long-term heat resistance of the final bond.
- Agree the solids-content tolerance basis and test method for commercial supply.
Check binder compatibility, substrate preparation, application conditions and final coating or bond performance in your own formulation. Waterborne use does not by itself establish solvent-free status or a hazard classification. Consult the current safety data sheet and use appropriate industrial handling controls.
Packaging and Storage
50 kg plastic drums or IBC totes.
Store at 5-30 °C in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Protect from freezing and light. Stated shelf life: 12 months under these conditions.
