Product Overview
CHLUMICRYL® TH-255C is an associative thickener for waterborne systems where high-shear viscosity and application flow must be balanced. It can be screened in coatings for plastic, metal, glass, wood or rubber, as well as architectural paints, inks and adhesives. Its application profile includes leveling, film fullness, hiding and reduced roller spatter. Product information lists two solids options, so dosage comparisons should use the confirmed supplied concentration rather than the model name alone. Evaluate the grade together with the complete binder and pigment package, checking the shear profile, application feel, gloss, resistance properties and storage stability before production.

The documented starting range is 0.5-2.0% of the total formulation; confirm the dosing basis and supplied solids option before use.
Measure the complete rheology profile rather than relying on a single viscosity reading.
Review the current SDS before handling.
- The 20% and 40% figures are separate listed solids options, not a continuous tolerance or a guarantee that both options are available.
- No universal one-to-one replacement ratio for another thickener is specified.
Check binder compatibility, substrate preparation, application conditions and final coating or bond performance in your own formulation. Waterborne use does not by itself establish solvent-free status or a hazard classification. Consult the current safety data sheet and use appropriate industrial handling controls.
