Beta-Glucanase

Product Description

Beta-glucanase is produced from selected high-quality strains such as Trichoderma through submerged liquid fermentation, extraction and purification. Beta-glucanase is a collective term for enzymes capable of cleaving beta-glycosidic bonds in glucose polymers, including 1,3-1,4-beta-glucanase, 1,3-beta-glucanase, 1,2-1,4-beta-glucanase, 1,4-beta-glucanase and 1,3-1,6-beta-glucanase. According to their mode of action, these enzymes are divided into endo-acting and exo-acting types. They degrade beta-glucan into low-molecular-weight fragments, causing it to lose hydrophilicity and viscosity. Beta-glucanase is widely used in brewing, animal feed, sugar production, papermaking and plant fungal disease control.

Application Information

In brewing, beta-glucanase may be added at the beginning of mashing to effectively reduce wort viscosity, accelerate filtration, increase malt extract yield and improve the sensory characteristics of beer. In compound feed enzymes, beta-glucanase can reduce intestinal digesta viscosity in animals fed barley-based diets, alleviate anti-nutritional effects and improve growth performance. In sugar production, beta-glucanase may be used when microbial contamination increases syrup viscosity and causes filtration and crystallization difficulties.

Packaging format, net weight, storage conditions and shelf life depend on the supplied grade. Enzyme proteins may cause respiratory or skin sensitization. Avoid inhaling powder, droplets or aerosols and use appropriate local ventilation and personal protective equipment. Request the current TDS, COA and SDS before handling or production use.
