Primarily added to materials such as polyurethane foam, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), cellulose acetate, and phenolic resins, it imparts flame retardancy (self-extinguishing properties) while enhancing the materials’ water resistance and cold tolerance.
2. Textiles and Fibers
Fabric Flame Retardant Finishing Agents
Used in synthetic fiber fabrics (e.g., curtains, carpets) and cellulose acetate to impart flame-retardant properties.
3. Electrochemical Applications
Lithium Battery Electrolyte Flame Retardant Additives
As a common flame retardant, it is added to lithium battery electrolytes to enhance battery safety.
4. Scientific Research and Analytical Chemistry
Solid-Phase Microextraction Reagent
Used in laboratories for solid-phase microextraction (SPME), a sample preparation technique.

Metal Extraction Agent, Lubricant/Gasoline Additive
Employed for metal extraction and separation, or as an extreme pressure additive in lubricants and gasoline.
