BP-1( UV-0) Application scenarios
1. Photostabilization of Plastics and Polymer Materials:
Used in polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polyolefins, epoxy resins, cellulose resins, unsaturated polyesters, etc., to prevent auto-oxidation and degradation of these materials under sunlight or fluorescent light due to ultraviolet radiation, avoiding yellowing, embrittlement, and decreased mechanical properties.
2. Protection of Paints and Coatings:
Added to various coatings to protect the coating itself and the coated substrate, extending the service life of paints, varnishes, etc., used outdoors, and maintaining their color and protective properties.
3. Anti-aging of Synthetic Rubber:
Used in synthetic rubber products to inhibit aging caused by ultraviolet radiation, delaying cracking and hardening of rubber, and improving its weather resistance.
4. Protection of Textiles and Fibers:
Used to treat fabrics, fibers, and other textiles to prevent fading, embrittlement, and loss of strength under light exposure, especially suitable for outdoor textiles, curtains, and tent fabrics.
5. Protection of Plexiglass and Transparent Materials:
Protects transparent polymer materials such as plexiglass (PMMA), preventing a decrease in light transmittance and yellowing after exposure to ultraviolet radiation, maintaining their optical properties and appearance.
6. Ultraviolet Protection in Cosmetics:
As a sunscreen ingredient, it absorbs ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 280-340nm, and is used in sunscreens, lotions, and other cosmetics to help protect the skin from ultraviolet damage.
7. Intermediate for the Synthesis of Ultraviolet Absorbers:
Used in the synthesis of other benzophenone-type ultraviolet absorbers, such as 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone (UV-9), 2-hydroxy-4-n-octyloxybenzophenone (UV-531), etc., and is an important raw material for the synthesis of these photostabilizers.
8. Enhanced Weather Resistance of Inks and Adhesives:
Added to inks and adhesives to improve their weather resistance, preventing performance degradation due to ultraviolet radiation in outdoor environments, and ensuring the stability of printed materials and bonded areas.
