Candelilla wax is widely recognized as a safe food additive, primarily used as a coating agent and processing aid.

• Fruit and Nut Coating:** Used on the surface of apples, pears, nuts, coffee beans, etc., it forms an extremely thin protective film, effectively preventing moisture loss, extending shelf life, and increasing gloss. • Confectionery Processing: According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it can be used as a lubricant and surface polish in the production of chewing gum and hard candy.
