1.Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol is used to prepare succinic acid, pentanediol, tetrahydrofuran, pyran, etc.

2. Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol is also used as a solvent for paint, resin and grease.

3. In the printing and dyeing industry, Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol is used as a lubricant, dispersant, decolorizing and deodorizing agent for medicines, and as a raw material for organic synthesis such as plasticizers, herbicides, and pesticides.

4. Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol is brominated to obtain tetrahydrofuran methyl bromide, which is replaced with sodium thiosulfate to obtain tetrahydrofuran methyl sodium thiosulfate. It is the raw material of long-acting vitamin B1 (furan thiamine).
