SLG Application scenarios
1. 🧴 Personal Care and Cosmetics
The main cleansing (foaming) ingredient in products such as facial cleansers, shampoos, shower gels, shaving creams, and toothpaste.
It has relatively low irritation to the skin and eyes, and produces fine foam.
2. ⚗️ Scientific Research and Biotechnology
Used in laboratories to dissolve membrane proteins, disrupt cell membrane structures to increase permeability, and form micelles or emulsions to solubilize hydrophobic molecules.
It is a biochemical research tool used in protein purification, analysis, and molecular biology techniques.
3. 🌱 Environmental Remediation
As a biosurfactant, it is used to promote the biodegradation of hydrophobic organic pollutants (such as petroleum hydrocarbons) in soil or water bodies.
It can reduce oil/water interfacial tension and provide carbon and nitrogen sources for microbial growth.
4. 🧪 Industrial and Formulation Additives
Used as a co-emulsifier in cosmetic creams and lotions to help form and stabilize oil-water mixtures.
It also maintains good cleaning and foaming performance in hard water.
