O polietilenoglicol 2,5- furandicarboxilato (PEF) \u00e9 um pol\u00edmero de base biol\u00f3gica 100% recicl\u00e1vel, produzido com mat\u00e9rias-primas renov\u00e1veis derivadas de fontes vegetais. O PEF foi descrito como um poli\u00e9ster de \u00faltima gera\u00e7\u00e3o com grande potencial para substituir o tereftalato de polietileno (PET), um pol\u00edmero dur\u00e1vel derivado de fontes sint\u00e9ticas tradicionais. O PEF oferece v\u00e1rias vantagens em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao PET, n\u00e3o apenas reduz a pegada de carbono geral do produto, mas tamb\u00e9m melhora a sustentabilidade da embalagem e, com uma barreira de g\u00e1s mais alta para oxig\u00eanio, di\u00f3xido de carbono e vapor de \u00e1gua em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com o PET, pode ser visto como uma alternativa interessante ao PET para aplica\u00e7\u00f5es de embalagem, como garrafas, filmes e bandejas de alimentos.<\/p>\n
