Essas propriedades permitem que ele seja usado em uma ampla gama de aplica\u00e7\u00f5es, incluindo pl\u00e1sticos, vernizes para pisos, revestimentos, t\u00eaxteis, tintas e adesivos. Esses mon\u00f4meros residuais podem n\u00e3o apenas causar problemas como irrita\u00e7\u00e3o da pele, mas tamb\u00e9m causar um odor desagrad\u00e1vel no produto final devido ao odor desagrad\u00e1vel desses pr\u00f3prios mon\u00f4meros.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>O sistema olfativo humano pode perceber concentra\u00e7\u00f5es muito baixas de mon\u00f4meros de acrilato. Esses mon\u00f4meros incluem mon\u00f4meros comerciais e sintetizados em laborat\u00f3rio. Os testes mostraram que os odores desses mon\u00f4meros podem ser classificados como tendo odores de enxofre, g\u00e1s mais leve, ger\u00e2nio e cogumelo.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>O diacrilato de 1,2-propanodiol (n\u00ba 16), o acrilato de metila (n\u00ba 1), o acrilato de etila (n\u00ba 2) e o acrilato de propila (n\u00ba 3) s\u00e3o descritos principalmente como odores de enxofre e alho. Al\u00e9m disso, as duas \u00faltimas subst\u00e2ncias tamb\u00e9m foram descritas como tendo um odor de g\u00e1s mais leve, e o acrilato de etila e o diacrilato de 1,2-propilenoglicol tinham a impress\u00e3o de um pequeno odor de cola. O acrilato de vinila (n\u00ba 5) e o acrilato de propileno (n\u00ba 6) foram descritos como odores de combust\u00edvel gasoso, o acrilato de 1-hidroxi-isopropila (n\u00ba 10) e o acrilato de 2-hidroxin-propila (n\u00ba 12) foram descritos como cheiro de ger\u00e2nio e g\u00e1s mais leve. 4), acrilato de 3-(Z)pentenila (n\u00ba 7), acrilato de sec-butila (ger\u00e2nio, sabor de cogumelo; n\u00ba 8), acrilato de 2-hidroxietila (n\u00ba 11), acrilato de 4-metilpentila (cogumelo, frutado; n\u00ba 14) e diacrilato de etilenoglicol (n\u00ba 15) foram descritos como odores de cogumelo. O acrilato de isobutila (n\u00ba 9), o acrilato de 2-etilhexila (n\u00ba 13), o acrilato de ciclopentila (n\u00ba 17) e o acrilato de ciclohexano (n\u00ba 18) s\u00e3o descritos como cheiro de cenoura e cheiro de ger\u00e2nio. O acrilato de 2-metoxifenila (n\u00ba 19) tem cheiro de ger\u00e2nio e presunto, enquanto seu is\u00f4mero acrilato de 4-metoxifenila (n\u00ba 20) \u00e9 descrito como cheiro de anis e anis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Os limiares de odor dos mon\u00f4meros testados apresentaram grandes diferen\u00e7as. O limiar de odor aqui se refere \u00e0 concentra\u00e7\u00e3o da subst\u00e2ncia que produz o menor est\u00edmulo \u00e0 percep\u00e7\u00e3o humana do odor, tamb\u00e9m conhecido como limiar olfativo.
