Candelilla wax Application scenarios

1. Cosmetics and Personal Care

This is one of the most important and common applications of candelilla wax. Based on its functionality, it is widely used in various products:

• Curing and Hardening:** Lipsticks, eyebrow pencils, solid perfumes. As a curing agent, it imparts structural strength to the product, preventing softening and deformation.

• Film Formation and Gloss:** Lipsticks, mascaras, creams. It forms a smooth film, enhancing the product’s gloss and smoothness during application.

• Stabilization and Thickening:** Emulsions, face creams, sunscreens. As an emulsion stabilizer and viscosity modifier, it prevents ingredient separation and improves texture.

• Skin Conditioning and Occlusive:** Skin creams, hand sticks. It forms a protective layer on the skin’s surface, reducing moisture loss and providing moisturizing effects.

2. Food Industry
Candelilla wax is widely recognized as a safe food additive, primarily used as a coating agent and processing aid.

• Fruit and Nut Coating:** Used on the surface of apples, pears, nuts, coffee beans, etc., it forms an extremely thin protective film, effectively preventing moisture loss, extending shelf life, and increasing gloss. • Confectionery Processing: According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it can be used as a lubricant and surface polish in the production of chewing gum and hard candy.

• Novel Food Development: Recent studies have shown that candelilla wax has great potential in the preparation of edible films, coatings, and oleoglosses to replace saturated fats, and can be used to develop healthier foods.

3. Industry and Other Fields

• Polishing Agent: Used for polishing leather dressings, furniture, automobiles, and other products, providing a good gloss and protective layer.

• Coatings and Inks: As a thickener and binder, it improves the adhesion and abrasion resistance of coatings and makes ink printing more uniform.

• Candle Manufacturing: Used as one of the raw materials, its properties help in candle shaping and improve burning performance.

• Other Uses: It can also be used as a sealing wax, an electrical insulating component, and a sizing lubricant and binder in paper production.

Candelilla wax Usage

1. Candelilla wax refers to a brown vegetable wax that is extracted from a grass that grows in Texas and Mexico. It is second only to carnauba wax in terms of hardness, and its melting temperature is between 67 and 71. Like carnauba wax, candelilla wax is used to increase the hardness of the wax when mixed with other ingredients, but its hardening effect is not as good as carnauba wax.

2.  This product can be used as a surface decorating agent and lubricant, and can be used to make beeswax paper.
