784 is een zeer actieve oranje vaste fotoinitiator met een goede fotoactiviteit, thermische stabiliteit en lage toxiciteit. Als reactief verdunningsmiddel wordt het voornamelijk gebruikt met mono- of multifunctionele vinylmonomeren en -oligomeren. Het wordt vaak gebruikt voor UV- en zichtbaar lichtuitharding van onverzadigde prepolymeren. Het is vooral geschikt voor het uitharden van fotogevoelige harsen voor beeldvorming of informatieopslag in hightech en gebieden met hoge toegevoegde waarde, zoals fotogevoelige lagen, holografische fotografie, directe laserbeeldvorming, driedimensionale lithografie, enz.
