Cholesteroloxidase (EC1.1.3.6 COD) wordt steeds meer erkend voor zijn rol in voedselverwerking, medische tests, biologische ongediertebestrijding en andere gebieden, en het heeft een groot toepassingspotentieel.
\nHet is een sleutelenzym in het cholesterolmetabolisme, afhankelijk van het co-enzym FAD, en kan specifiek de omzetting van cholesterol naar cholesterol-4-een-3-on (4-cholesterol-3-on) katalyseren. Recombinant E. coli die COD produceert werd gebruikt als onderzoeksobject, met als doel COD te ontwikkelen en toe te passen. Er werd onderzoek gedaan naar de scheiding en extractie van COD, de enzymatische eigenschappen en de toepassing van het enzym. De COD werd ge\u00efsoleerd met behulp van een zuiveringsproces dat bestond uit ultrasone behandeling van recombinante E. coli, 70% (NH_4)_2SO_4 uitzouten, CM Sepharose F.F. ionenwisselingschromatografie en Sephadex G-75 fijne gel filtratie. Het ge\u00ebxtraheerde en gezuiverde COD had een enzymactiviteit van 47,3 U\/mg, een zuiveringsveelvoud van 45 keer en een terugvindingspercentage van de enzymactiviteit van 21%.<\/p>\n
