1. Drying Agent System 🎨:
Cobalt/manganese salts are the main drying agents, with calcium/zirconium as auxiliary drying agents. Their combined use balances drying speed and paint film performance. Low-lead/lead-free formulations have become mainstream and are commonly used in alkyd paints, printing inks, and coil coatings.
2. Metalworking Fluids 🛠️:
Sodium naphthenate is readily soluble in water and is an inexpensive and highly effective emulsifier and rust inhibitor. It can be used to formulate water-based cutting fluids and rolling fluids, improving lubrication and rust prevention, and reducing workpiece wear and corrosion.
3. Lubricating Greases 🛢️:
Aluminum naphthenate salts are used to thicken greases, while calcium/barium salts improve water resistance and high-temperature stability. High-carbon esters are suitable for making low-viscosity, high-stability precision instrument oils, meeting the long-term lubrication needs of watches, measuring instruments, etc.
4. Preservatives/Pesticides 🪵:
Copper/zinc naphthenate salts possess broad-spectrum bactericidal and preservative properties, used for the preservation of wood, cables, and leather; some salts can also serve as pesticide intermediates or fungicide components.
5. Rare Earth Extraction 🧪:
Catalysts are mature acidic extractants used in rare earth hydrometallurgy to separate light/heavy rare earth elements from other metal ions. The process is stable, cost-controllable, and suitable for large-scale production.
6. Organic Synthesis Catalysis ⚗️:
Nickel/cobalt/molybdenum salts are commonly used as catalysts for hydrogenation, oxidation, and polymerization reactions, aiding in the synthesis of fine chemicals and polymer materials.
