N-Formylmorpholine Application scenarios
1. Aromatic Hydrocarbon Extraction
This is the most important and classic application of NFM. As the optimal extraction solvent, it is mainly used to recover high-purity benzene, toluene, xylene, and other aromatic hydrocarbons from reformed oils, cracked gasoline, or coking crude benzene. It has advantages such as high separation efficiency, low solvent consumption, and high product purity.
2. Gas and Condensate Oil Purification and Desulfurization
Used for the removal of acidic gases (such as CO₂, SO₂) from materials such as natural gas, syngas, flue gas, natural gas condensate, and gasoline.
3. C4 Fraction Separation
In petrochemicals, it is used to separate n-butene and butane from C4 fractions.
4. Pharmaceutical and Pesticide Industries
In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used as a solvent in drug synthesis reactions and is also an important raw material for synthesizing drug intermediates. In the pesticide field, it can be used as a raw material for synthesizing pesticide intermediates.
5. Polymer and Plastics Industry
Used as a catalyst in the foaming industry of polyester plastics. Meanwhile, its analogue, acryloylmorpholine (ACMO), also has applications in the field of polymer materials.
6. Organic Synthesis and Laboratory Applications
It is used as a formylation reagent in the fine chemical industry. Due to its ability to dissolve many sparingly soluble substances, it is also frequently used in organic synthesis reactions and polymer preparation.
