Define the printhead and ink technology<\/h2>\n

Record printhead model, recirculating or non-recirculating design, nozzle size, filter rating, waveform, firing frequency, temperature and allowable viscosity and surface-tension windows. State whether the ink is water-based, solvent, UV or hybrid. Supplier compatibility with \u201cinkjet\u201d as a category is not a substitute for printhead-owner limits.<\/p>\n

Use 2100 only after a jetting gate<\/h2>\n

A wetting grade may improve substrate coverage but also change meniscus behavior, ligament breakup, satellites and drop velocity. After identity confirmation, screen the lowest supplier-approved level in a fluid-property check before loading a printhead. Compare filtration, degassing, drop watch, nozzle plate wetting, latency, restart and long-run missing-nozzle count.<\/p>\n

Keep 3501 behind two gates<\/h2>\n

First obtain a current dose and active-content basis; the public page supplies neither. Then require printhead-specific compatibility. For a blocking complaint, define pressure, temperature and dwell after confirming cure or drying. Do not use a surface additive to mask retained water\/solvent, insufficient UV dose, warm stacking or an unsuitable binder.<\/p>\n

Do not rank the 2750 family by name<\/h2>\n

Normalize printed density<\/h2>\n

ASTM D7305<\/a> describes reflection-density measurement for prints on paper, film or board. Match density before comparing gloss, rub or defects. It does not evaluate drop formation or nozzle reliability and is not intended for metal or foil.<\/p>\n

Measure rub after cure or drying<\/h2>\n

ASTM D5264<\/a> provides a comparative Sutherland rub practice. Fix receptor, load, cycles and conditioning. Run adhesion, block and scratch separately. A print that survives rub may still block in a warm stack or lose adhesion after lamination.<\/p>\n

Use vehicle testing as a framework, not a jetting standard<\/h2>\n

ASTM D6687<\/a> guides tests for printing-ink vehicles and components. It can structure compatibility and finished-print evaluation, but it does not certify an ink for a printhead. Printhead-specific waveform, maintenance, latency and reliability criteria remain essential.<\/p>\n

Approve storage and compliance<\/h2>\n

Age sealed ink at defined temperatures, then repeat viscosity, filtration, drop watch, nozzle and print tests. Check sedimentation, haze and odor. Public product pages do not establish food-contact, low-migration or electronics compliance. Obtain relevant composition declarations and validate the complete ink, substrate and cure construction.<\/p>\n
