Le TEMPO est rouge-orange, facile \u00e0 sublimer en cristal ou en liquide, et est facilement soluble dans des solvants tels que l'eau, l'\u00e9thanol et le benz\u00e8ne.<\/h4>\n

Il a pour fonction de capturer les radicaux libres et d'\u00e9touffer l'oxyg\u00e8ne singulet. C'est un catalyseur d'oxydation tr\u00e8s efficace, capable d'oxyder les alcools primaires en ald\u00e9hydes et les alcools secondaires en c\u00e9tones.<\/h4>\n

1. L'oxydation catalytique de la cellulose \u00e0 l'aide du TEMPO est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme une m\u00e9thode efficace. Elle peut oxyder compl\u00e8tement la structure de la fibre lignocellulosique dans son syst\u00e8me de r\u00e9action en suspension et \u00e9tablir une bonne condition de base pour la dissociation m\u00e9canique ult\u00e9rieure.<\/h4>\n

2. TEMPO est un radical nitroxyl\u00e9 stable et soluble dans l'eau. Il peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 pour catalyser s\u00e9lectivement l'oxydation des groupes hydroxyles primaires des polysaccharides afin de les convertir en groupes carboxyles.<\/h4>\n
