Le myristate d'isopropyle est largement utilis\u00e9 dans les cosm\u00e9tiques. Il permet d'hydrater et d'adoucir la peau. La peau absorbe bien le produit. Lorsque le myristate d'isopropyle entre en contact avec le caoutchouc, celui-ci gonfle, se dissout partiellement et sa viscosit\u00e9 diminue ; lorsqu'il entre en contact avec des mati\u00e8res plastiques (telles que le nylon et le poly\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne), ces mati\u00e8res gonflent.
