Les synth\u00e9tiseurs ont d'abord m\u00e9lang\u00e9 6,3 litres de DMF et 11,0 kg de m-CPBA, puis ont agit\u00e9 le tout pendant 2 heures. Ils ont \u00e9mis l'hypoth\u00e8se que l'accident et l'explosion \u00e9taient probablement dus \u00e0 des mati\u00e8res insolubles, et que ces mati\u00e8res insolubles \u00e9taient pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment du m-CBPO. Cette mati\u00e8re insoluble peut \u00eatre une impuret\u00e9 provenant de la mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re m-CPBA elle-m\u00eame, ou peut \u00eatre g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e progressivement dans le syst\u00e8me de r\u00e9action. La conclusion finale est qu'il faut 185 minutes pour que la solution DMF de m-CPBA passe lentement de 26 degr\u00e9s \u00e0 70 degr\u00e9s, puis qu'elle atteigne rapidement 200 degr\u00e9s en quelques minutes ou plus. En outre, la solution DMF de m-CPBA la plus concentr\u00e9e se r\u00e9chauffe plus rapidement.
