UV-928 Application scenarios
1. High-Performance Coatings
This is its most core and prominent application area. Thanks to its excellent thermal stability and good solubility, it is particularly suitable for coating systems requiring high-temperature curing.
– Powder Coatings
Prevents decomposition during high-temperature baking, effectively protecting the coating from loss of gloss, discoloration, and cracking.
– Coil Coatings (Coated Steel)
Used for pre-coated metal coils, providing long-term weather protection.
– Automotive Coatings
Used in original equipment manufacturer (OEM) paints or refinish paints to improve the long-term weather resistance and anti-yellowing properties of the paint surface.
– Other Industrial Coatings
The general addition amount is 1.0% – 3.0% of the total weight of the formula, and it is often used in combination with hindered amine light stabilizers (such as UV-292) for better results.
2. High-End Engineering Plastics
Used as a high-efficiency light stabilizer to protect the mechanical properties and appearance of plastics.
– Polycarbonate (PC)
Significantly improves the anti-yellowing ability of polycarbonate.
– Polyesters (such as PBT, PET)
Prevents strength and color degradation caused by ultraviolet light.
– Polyamide (PA, Nylon), Polyoxymethylene (POM), Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), etc.
The recommended addition amount is usually between 0.15% and 0.60%.
3. Agricultural Films
Added to agricultural plastic films, it can absorb some ultraviolet light, extending the service life of the film while also helping to create a more suitable growth and development environment for certain crops.
4. Adhésifs et produits d'étanchéité
Used in adhesives and sealants that require long-term outdoor use or may be affected by sunlight, preventing aging and failure due to ultraviolet radiation.
5. Scientific Research Applications
This compound is also provided as a biochemical reagent, mainly used in related light stabilization mechanism research and material development experiments.
