Antioxidant 1098 Application scenarios
1. Wires and Cables
Especially suitable for inner insulation materials made of polyolefins (such as PP, HDPE, LDPE), protecting their stability during long-term use.
2. Fibers and Textiles
In the production of polyamide (nylon) fibers, it is added by dry blending during the later stage of polymerization or to the polymer chips, providing protection to the fibers during subsequent spinning and heat setting processes, preventing yellowing and strength degradation.
3. Automotive and Electronic Parts
Used in the manufacture of polyamide or polyacetal engineering plastic parts requiring long-term heat resistance, such as connectors and gears.
4. Packaging Films
Used in the production of polyamide films requiring clarity and heat resistance.
⚙️ Usage Recommendations: Synergistic Effects with Other Additives
To achieve better stabilization effects, antioxidant 1098 (primary antioxidant) is often used in combination with other types of additives in industrial applications, resulting in a synergistic effect of “1+1>2”:
Combined with auxiliary antioxidants: The most common combination is with phosphite or phosphate ester auxiliary antioxidants (such as 168, DLTDP). The primary antioxidant captures free radicals, and the auxiliary antioxidant decomposes hydroperoxides, providing double protection that significantly extends the thermal oxidative induction time of the material.
Combined with light stabilizers: In outdoor applications requiring weather resistance, it can be used together with UV absorbers or hindered amine light stabilizers to resist both heat and light degradation.
