Polyethylenglykol-2,5-Furandicarboxylat (PEF) ist ein zu 100 % recycelbares, biobasiertes Polymer, das aus erneuerbaren, aus pflanzlichen Quellen gewonnenen Rohstoffen hergestellt wird. PEF wird als Polyester der n\u00e4chsten Generation bezeichnet, der das Potenzial hat, Polyethylenterephthalat (PET) zu ersetzen, ein langlebiges Polymer, das aus traditionellen synthetischen Quellen gewonnen wird. PEF bietet eine Reihe von Vorteilen gegen\u00fcber PET: Es verringert nicht nur den gesamten CO2-Fu\u00dfabdruck des Produkts, sondern verbessert auch die Nachhaltigkeit der Verpackung, und da es im Vergleich zu PET eine h\u00f6here Gasbarriere f\u00fcr Sauerstoff, Kohlendioxid und Wasserdampf aufweist, kann es als interessante Alternative zu PET f\u00fcr Verpackungsanwendungen wie Flaschen, Folien und Lebensmittelschalen angesehen werden.<\/p>\n
