1. Electrochemistry and New Energy
* Lithium-ion/Lithium-oxygen battery electrolytes: Used as the main electrolyte or additive to improve battery cycle life, discharge capacity, and safety.
High ionic conductivity, wide electrochemical window, good thermal stability, and helps suppress lithium dendrite formation.
* Supercapacitor electrolytes: Used in electric double-layer capacitors to provide high electrochemical stability. Ionic conductivity and wide electrochemical window.
* Gel polymer electrolytes: Used as reaction media or components for in-situ construction of high-performance gel electrolytes.
Can be used as Lewis acid-induced polymerization to improve electrolyte conductivity and mechanical stability.
2. Chemical Synthesis and Catalysis
* Green reaction solvents/mediates: Used in reactions such as hydrogenation and Suzuki cross-coupling, sometimes improving reaction rates and enantioselectivity.
Replaces volatile organic solvents, has good solubility, and is recyclable.
* Catalysts or catalyst supports: Used as homogeneous catalysts or carriers for immobilized enzymes in biocatalysis or carbon dioxide conversion.
Can form “ionic liquid/covalent organic framework” composite materials, concentrating catalytic active sites.
3. New Material Preparation
• Nanomaterial Synthesis Medium: Serves as a reaction medium for preparing NH₄TiOF₃ mesostructures, which are then transformed into TiO₂ nanostructures. Provides a unique environment and template for material growth.
• Component of Functional Composite Materials: Combines with polymers to prepare ionic liquid/polymer electrolyte membranes for use in high-temperature proton exchange membranes, etc. Achieves uniform dispersion of ionic liquids in polymers through microemulsion polymerization, combining high electrical conductivity and mechanical strength.
4. Other Industrial Applications
• Working Fluid of Absorption Heat Pumps/Refrigerators: Forms working fluid pairs with 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, etc. Its thermophysical properties are suitable for heat energy conversion systems.
